Soothing Waves Scarf

The ripples in this one are not printed or pressed in. Wool and cotton behave differently when they come off the loom and meet water: the wool draws in and the cotton does not, and the cloth buckles into waves along the join. Weavers call it collapse, and it only works if the two fibres are set against each other deliberately.

239cm long and 32cm wide, so it is generous enough to wear as a wrap over the shoulders rather than only at the neck.
